Experimental biologist at CU Anschutz. I build the analysis and automation that research groups and small operations actually run on.
I work in the Bonetto Lab at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus, in the Department of Pathology. The lab studies cancer cachexia, the musculoskeletal wasting that accompanies cancer. I joined in August 2024 and was promoted to Senior Research Services Professional in December 2025.
I am the group's only computational scientist. I own the bulk RNA-seq and the single-cell and single-nucleus analysis, from quality control through biological interpretation, pathway analysis, and reproducible reporting. I also run lab operations: purchasing and inventory, vendor coordination, equipment readiness, experiment scheduling, SOP authoring, and training for researchers and clinical fellows.
I still work at the bench, so I usually know how the data I am analyzing was produced. That work includes mammalian cell culture with both primary and immortalized lines, 96-well phenotypic workflows, transfection, ELISA, Western blot, qPCR, microscopy, and nucleic-acid and protein extraction. I have six years of research experience.
Before this I was a Lab Researcher in the Seibold Lab at National Jewish Health, from May 2020 to July 2024, working on airway epithelial biology and asthma genomics. I cultured primary human airway epithelial cells at air-liquid interface, operated Beckman Coulter Biomek i7 liquid-handling automation for high-throughput extraction, NGS library prep, and qPCR, and worked on GeoMx DSP spatial transcriptomics.
Outside the lab I build production automation for a marine service company in South Florida: a constraint-based field-work scheduler and an automated weekly invoicing pipeline. Both run against real operations, so the interesting part is not the model. It is what happens when the input is wrong.
